Eclipse BIRT

Eclipse BIRT (Business Intelligence Reporting Tool) is an Eclipse-based open source reporting system that integrates with Java / Java EE application to produce compelling reports.

BIRT has two main components: a report designer tool based on Eclipse, and a runtime component that you can add to your application server. BIRT also offers a report engine that allows you to add reports to your own application.

The latest version of BIRT version 4.2 is currently available. This release brings many improvements and new features. BIRT 4.2 now offers a new Excel data source that supports multi-sheet datasets. Derived measures are now available on cubes and there is better filter support with cumulative aggregates that allow data to be included or excluded in the filtered rows. What is also new is the support of the OSGi runtime or POJO. In addition, there is now a new donut chart type that is adapted to building Maven support for the BIRT engine to add.

Due to Industrial TSI extensive experience in the use of Eclipse BIRT, we provide 2-day trainings which will allow you to create reports on your own. If you need more interactive solution for non-technical users, we recommend trying out the Actuate BIRT.
